TOOTH RESTORATIONS THAT LOOK NATURAL

Bioclear

The Bioclear Method is a Patented New Technology gaining popularity with patients, dentists and dental schools. It is similar to pressed porcelain such as E-max press but is injection molded over the existing tooth with special instruments and equipment. The instruments include Bioclear Matrix ultra-thin clear tooth shaped forms, thermally liquefied 3M resins heated in the Bioclear HeatSync to a safe 155 degree temperature creating a restoration as strong as some porcelains. The 3M resins are injected into the Bioclear Matrix special forms that are fitted to the patient’s teeth. The clinical advantage is that the procedure is significantly less destructive than porcelain techniques. Minimal tooth preparation includes radius bevel preparation, disclosing, and blasting to remove biofilm. When completed, the entire tooth is ensconced in the monolithic resin, which in layman’s term could be described as shrink wrapping the tooth.

DENTAL CROWNS

Dental crowns are durable and mimic your tooth’s natural form and function. A crown is recommended when the tooth is: compromised due to a large failing restoration, cracked or broken, or when the tooth has had a root canal. A crown is crafted from materials that include: Zirconia, Gold or Porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM). Lab crafted crowns are an alternative to a Bioclear overlay or Bioclear Veneer.

DENTAL FILLINGS

Dental fillings treat cavities and damaged teeth with an amalgam or composite/resin material. Amalgam fillings are less commonly used as they contain Mercury, silver, tin and copper. Composite/resin fillings are more durable under pressure , allow Dr Ziese to conserve more tooth structure and bond in areas where amalgam cannot. We use the Bioclear protocol when placing our restorations.

DENTURES

Dentures provide a functional, cost-effective tooth replacement for total or partial tooth loss. They can be used in conjunction with implants to provide more stability. Dental implants allow the patient to wear their dentures without the use of adhesives. Partial or full (removable) dentures as well as implant over dentures are available at Ziese Family Dentistry.

DENTAL BRIDGE

A dental bridge is a prosthetic device that fills the gap from one or more missing teeth by anchoring artificial teeth (pontics) to neighboring natural teeth (abutments) or implants, restoring your smile, ability to chew, speak, and preventing other teeth from shifting. Common types include traditional (crowns on both sides), cantilever (crown on one side), and Maryland (metal/resin framework on back of teeth). The procedure involves preparing adjacent teeth, taking impressions, and cementing the custom-made bridge in place, usually taking two dental visits.

DENTAL IMPLANTS

A dental implant is created using surgical grade of titanium. It’s placed into your jawbone and gum tissue to form a foundation for the replacement of teeth like Crowns, bridges or dentures. Traditional implants are restored with an abutment and crown. Implants are the closest alternative to natural teeth. Dr Ziese has a great relationship with local Oral Surgeons who place implants for her patients. After the implants have integrated into the bone, then she is able to restore them.
